Artist statement: As the sun sets along the coast, the sky becomes alive with vibrant colors whose reflections dance along the top of the sea. The waves move slowly towards the shore, bringing the beautiful blend of colors closer. You want to lean down to gather this rainbow of sparkling hues to keep with you always, but the only way for me is to capture this scene with my camera. Now I, and you, can always remember the glory that is sunset along the ocean.

Artist statement: For most people, a close-up can be a bit too revealing. We just don’t have the perfect beauty that animals possess. (Maybe it’s God’s way of keeping us humble.) Looking at this lovely creature, I believe it’s impossible to look away. Her captivating eyes lead you into the soul of this beautiful animal. It is an intimate, revealing and ultimately vulnerable portrait of an innocent young alpaca. This works for people, too, so take a moment to look closer into the eyes of those around you.

Artist statement: Nothing is so perfect as an intricate floral design found in nature. So many elaborate details woven into one colorful, harmonious creation. What’s even more interesting is when you view such a blossom from a new perspective. As you look behind this stunning sunflower, the multiple patterns of oranges, yellows and greens continue to astound. How can both sides be so equally alluring? It is truly a work of art nature created for us to treasure.

Artist statement: This piece is a personnel dedication to my father and my attempt to deal with loss. When I use mixed media, I am on a journey and let the objects guide me. The old spool label is from my grandmother's sewing box. When I look at it, I visit her memory as well.

Artist statement: While waiting for the Metro in Paris, I looked back at the Eifel Tower and at the that moment, the lights went on. I chose Black & White because I was reminded of the scenes in the 'film noir" style and was looking for a cinematic style. The presence of people add a mystery and invite the viewer to create their own story.

Artist statement: Foggy morning in the bayou. Long exposure. Set out on a kayak into the spooky swamp before dark. Definitely out of my comfort level. Paddled to a small lake off the main channel to a spot where I could stand on some tree roots and secure my tripod in a shallow area. www.MattReynoldsPhotography.com

Artist statement: Unforgettable night chasing the Aurora in northern Norway. Hiked down (with micro spikes) to the edge of the sea to get a reflection of the Northern Lights overhead. Was a full moon to my back that night and surprisingly it did not affect the Aurora and provided me enough light on the ground / mountains to create a decent image. www.MattReynoldsPhotography.com
