Artist statement: It's difficult to go to a place like Death Valley Nat'l Park & take a photograph no one has seen before. I arrived at Zabriskie Point a few minutes before sunrise & was as taken by the sight unfolding before me as I was with the multitudes of minivans, cameras & tripods. It was hard to plant yourself anywhere without getting in someone's way. Nevertheless, it's not hard to see why people flock here for first light.

Artist statement: I was a bit of an odd child with odd fears. One of my biggest fears was being trapped in an alternate dimension where everything looked exactly the same but I could never get back home to my real family. This photo is a visual representation of that fear. Who can say which side is the “true” reality and which side is the “reflection”?

Artist statement: This photo has special significance to me. It speaks to me about transitional periods. This photo was taken at the tail end of summer and just as winter was ramping up to full strength. Just outside New York City, a ray of sunlight pushed through the gray wintery clouds and rested on beautiful garden where I saw these hydrangeas. It’s a reminder that beauty can be found even during tumultuous times.

A Matter of Perspective

Artist statement: This might be my most thought provoking and challenging piece, it’s certainly the one I’ve spent the most time observing and thinking about. On the surface it is just a picture of a church on a clear summer day. To some the church provides warmth and comfort, to others it provides just the opposite… But it really comes down to a matter of perspective, doesn’t it?

$225.00

Artist statement: We know more about outer space than we do our planet's oceans. It's a common phrase that I've always enjoyed (whether it's technically accurate or not). This image to me represents the enigmatic beauty of the ocean. The ripples and waves create beautiful and intricate patterns and the transition from light to dark represents it's mysterious nature. When I look at this image I end up asking myself what would I be able to see if I could peer Just Below the Surface.

Artist statement: I was always the kid stomping around in the brook behind my home, the teacher who dove into finger-paint and papier-mâché creation with my students. This is reflected in my work: textured, playful, messy and vibrant. Present here and now. I'm inspired by the natural world, by silly fun – and also by the loving connection between humans. My work is the natural expression of my joyful heart! That's why I love sharing it out.
